Certification
The 5th C is often one that is overlooked and not given too much importance. However, we here at St.Diamont feel like this is one of the most important attributes to safeguard the quality of your diamond and to ensure the long-term value of your purchased investment.
All our diamonds are fully certified by leading laboratories across the world. Each stone is individually validated by an expert and the details of the stone are documented in a globally recognised certificate. In addition, the serial number of the diamond is laser in-scripted on the diamond girdle. The in-scription is not visible to the naked eye but can seen be seen using an industry standard loupe. The in-scription has two purposes, firstly it is to confirm that the stone is indeed the same as validated in the certification, and secondly to protect against theft. If in any case your stone has been misplaced, the serial number can be used to see if anyone is attempting to sell it on the open market. In these cases, it is possible to track down the rightful owners of the stone and re-couple the gem with its legal owner.

Recommendation
We always recommend that you keep your diamond certification stored in a safe location, and we also always recommend that our customers get their diamonds insured in case of loss or theft. This certification should be submitted to the jeweller performing the evaluation for submission to the insurance company. Alternatively, the evaluator can use the laser in-scription on the girdle of the diamond and look up on the global database available on the websites of each of the gem laboratories.
